Your Most Asked Skincare Questions

Renata here,

In this special edition of our skincare newsletter, I am thrilled to address the skincare questions that have flooded our inbox recently.

In this special edition, I address the unique concerns and challenges faced by women in their 50s, 60s, and 70s, providing

advice that comes from my own personal experience and knowledge on skincare.

Whether you're seeking solutions for fine lines, age spots, sensitive skin, dryness, or under-eye concerns, I believe you can find some valuable information in this newsletter edition.

So, let’s dive in…

Question: "I'm in my 60s and noticing more fine lines and wrinkles. What are some effective anti-aging ingredients or products I should consider?"

From my experience, in your 60s, addressing fine lines and wrinkles requires potent anti-aging ingredients that nourish and revitalise the skin.

While well-known ingredients like retinol and vitamin C can be effective, let's explore some lesser-known options you might have not heard about.

One such ingredient is Bakuchiol, a natural alternative to retinol that offers similar benefits without the potential for irritation.

Bakuchiol helps to stimulate collagen production, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and improve skin texture.

Additionally, consider exploring peptides like Matrixyl and Argireline, which target specific signs of ageing by promoting collagen synthesis and relaxing facial muscles, respectively.

These powerful yet lesser-known ingredients can be valuable additions to your anti-aging skincare arsenal, providing you with a range of options to combat the effects of time.

Question: "I'm in my 50s, and my skin feels dry and lacks elasticity. What can I do to improve hydration and firmness?"

If you're experiencing dryness and a loss of elasticity in your 50s, there are several effective ways to improve hydration and firmness.

Start by incorporating moisturisers enriched with quality ingredients like rosa damascena oil, which helps to restore the skin's moisture barrier.

Additionally, consider incorporating facial massages and facial yoga into your routine.

Gentle massaging motions with your fingertips can enhance blood circulation and stimulate collagen production, promoting a more plump and firm complexion.

Facial yoga exercises, such as facial stretches and targeted movements, can also help tone and tighten facial muscles, contributing to improved elasticity.

By combining these practices with nourishing skincare products, you can replenish moisture and restore firmness to your skin, revealing a more youthful and revitalised appearance.

Question: "With age, I've noticed my under-eye area getting puffy and developing dark circles. What are some effective remedies or products for this concern?"

If you've noticed puffiness and dark circles under your eyes as you age, there are effective remedies and products to address this concern.

One simple and accessible remedy I’ve been using is cool compresses or chilled cucumber slices, which can help reduce puffiness by constricting blood vessels and soothing the under-eye area.

Question: “Does food really have an impact on skin health and rejuvenation?”

Absolutely! The food we eat plays a vital role in maintaining healthy and rejuvenated skin. Consuming a balanced diet that includes nutrient-rich foods can support skin health from within.

Antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables, such as berries, leafy greens, and nuts, help protect against free radicals and promote a youthful appearance.

Additionally, incorporating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like fatty fish or flaxseeds, can contribute to improved skin hydration and elasticity.

Remember, nourishing your skin goes beyond topical treatments—it starts with the nourishment you provide from within.

Feel free to send me all your skincare related questions and I will try answering all of them, from my own personal experience.
