As someone who has spent decades experimenting with various diets, supplements, and skincare products, I’ve learned that what we put into our bodies is just as important—if not more so—than what we apply on the surface.

Hitting 40 was a bit of a wake-up call for me.

I noticed my skin wasn’t bouncing back as quickly from late nights or stress, and those little fine lines weren’t so little anymore. That’s when I really started paying attention to how my diet was affecting my skin.

I’ve always known that nutrition plays a role in overall health, but it wasn’t until I reached my 40s that I truly grasped how intimately connected it is to the state of our skin.

Green tea also became a daily ritual. Not only is it a soothing drink, but it’s also loaded with catechins, a type of antioxidant that has been shown to improve skin elasticity and reduce redness.

After 40, our skin needs all the help it can get, and the foods we choose to fuel our bodies can make all the difference. I’m not saying that I’ve found the fountain of youth, but I do believe that the right nutrition has kept my skin glowing, even as I embrace the natural changes that come with age.
